ATAA Congratulates Turkish Women's Track Team!

Turkish Women Win 3 Gold, 1 Silver in Euro 2012,
Qualify for 2012 London Olympics

ATAA President Kirlikovali Meets with Top Congressional Leadership

Turkey ranked fifth overall out of 45 countries at the 2012 European Championships in Helsinki, thanks to the outstanding performance of its women athletes. Germany placed first, followed by Russia, France and Ukraine.

The Turkish Women's 4X400M (Mile) relay team, including Sema Alpak, Merve Aydin, Melis Siredir, and Pinar Saka, made it into the world top-15 and qualified for the London Olympics with a time of 3 minutes and 25 seconds.

At the 2012 European Championships in Helsinki, Nevin Yanit bolted for the gold in the 100M Hurdles and also qualified for the Olympics. European Athletics (EAA) voted Yanit European Female Athlete of the Month:

Gulcan Mingir conquered the grueling 3000M Steeple Chase, winning the gold and qualifying for the Olympics:

Finally, Asli Cakir-Alptekin and Gamze Bulut made it 1st and 2nd for Turkey, in the 1500M, both qualifying for the Olympics.
